Tony Robbins, knows the power of habits to transform, and he has advice for anyone looking for the magic formula of transformation, here is what he says,

“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.”

Certain actions must be consistent and aligned to create transformation. Our habits and routines, the little things that we do daily have the power to unlock our potential to succeed.

James Clear the author of the phenomenal book, Atomic Habits, talks about how developing success habits shouldn’t feel foreign or troublesome, he says we all have the power to choose our habits.

We can define the kind of habits we want and steer the trajectory of our lives. Habits help us to do that, they are like a ship’s rudder, they steer our lives, as we navigate the course.

For years now I have been studying the lives of successful people, reading their books, listening to their talks, attending their seminars, going to their conferences, their webinars and trainings and basically getting mentored.

Here are 3 takeaways, habits I have learned every successful persons incorporates in their daily grind;

1. Wake up at the same time

Your morning routine matters, it doesn’t matter if you are a night owl or a day hawk, your mornings are golden moments, that should be treasured. The earlier you can wake up the better.

When you create a habit of hitting your — to do list — early, in the wee hours of the morning, instead of hitting the snooze button you are setting yourself up for success.

And that’s because if you can ignore your body’s is screams for a few seconds of snoozing, but instead choose to jump into a cold pool like Tony Robbins — yes the guy does that, (he says it’s a good way to start the day uncomfortable!) — you condition your mind to expect the pain that comes with working hard.

Besides, mornings have a magic to them, they are not only quiet and peaceful but you are more productive working in the morning, that’s because your focus is razor sharp and distractions are almost nonexistent.

Condition your body to wake up at the same time every day, weekends, Sundays and public holidays included. Wake up at the same time even if you’ve slowed down, are on holiday or honeymoon. That single habit mastered pays, and it pays massively, in millions of dollars.

2. Schedule out your Day

When you schedule your day, you develop a sense of direction, and you can easily avoid distractions.

A scheduled day broken into three or five things you must accomplish is like a road with sign posts, it helps you to avoid taking detours.

A clear schedule helps you to avoid getting bogged down by responsibilities and instead focus on your priorities.

A schedule has other benefits too, it helps you to establish a working routine, overcome procrastination, meet set deadlines, avoid time wasting and accomplish specific tasks within definite time.

3. Prioritize Practicing Self Care

You are the most important asset in your life, you need to take care of yourself above everything else. Its important that you have a daily routine of self-care — exercise, pray, meditate, read, journal, go for long walks or swim.

Focus on self-care, your mental and physical health. That includes the food that you eat, what you drink, knowing when to rest, knowing when to slow down and when to take a break.

Whatever you do, keep your body, mind, and soul healthy.

As I close, Jack Canfield has a wonderful quote, he says; “Successful people don’t just drift off to the top. Getting there requires focused action, personal discipline, and lots of energy every day to make things happen.”

Developing the right habits requires focused action, personal discipline, and lots of energy. Build or incorporate these habits into your life and you will see tremendous transformation.
